Now we'll teach you the proper way to move your hips. We call this the "Merengue Movement". Both the follower and the leader use the merengue movement during the dance. All latin dances utilize this hip movement whether it's Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, or Cha-cha-cha.
PRACTICE: For some this movement will come very naturally while for others it will feel completely awkward. If you fall in the latter category then we recommend practicing a little bit each day until it begins to feel natural. Try to sneak in some practice every chance you get; while your watching TV, doing the laundry, walking the dog, or incorporate it into your daily work out routine.
